Manoeuvres Sentimentales is a trio of improvisers-composers.
The project is characterized by its energy and architectural complexity.
His research intentions and work operate at the intersection between free-improvised music, experimental and contemporary avant-garde.
The music is intense, precise, unpredictable, evolving.
Another peculiarity of the trio’s creative process is their ability to explore, practice and bring into play different improvisational/compositional frameworks — as a collective entity.
By breaking all genre boundaries, the project aims to conduct musical research that is both plastic(fluid) and consistently expressive.
In very practical terms, the trio’s work features a rich array of timbres, a multi-structural vision, concepts of rhythmic relationships or variation/repetition settings, and complex sonic superimposition.
In a more evocative sense, we could also say that Manoeuvres Sentimentales is like getting lost in the woods, or facing the sea atop of a cliff, or even a glass exploding into a thousand shards of light and reverberations…or all of that at once.
